With 2026 underway, I’m curious about the latest gaming trends that everyone is buzzing about. It seems like every year, new genres and gameplay mechanics are popping up, but which ones do you think are really changing the landscape?
I’ve noticed a lot more integration of VR and AR in mainstream games, making experiences more immersive than ever. And let’s not forget the rise of indie games that are pushing boundaries in creativity. What do you guys think? Are there any new games or genres that you feel are worth keeping an eye on this year?

I get that VR and AR are cool, but I feel like the hype around them is a bit overblown. Sometimes they just don’t hit the mark, you know? I’m actually way more excited about how retro pixel art styles are making a comeback in indie games – there’s something about that nostalgic feel that’s really refreshing!
Totally agree on the indie games front; they’re really shaking things up! I just played this awesome one called “Echoes of Solitude” that dives deep into storytelling and has such a unique art style. Also, VR prices are finally coming down a bit, so I think more people will jump on that bandwagon this year.
